Langley, BC - Just 35 years ago, the first women's shelter in British Columbia opened to provide a safe haven for victims of familial abuse. Today the Ishtar Transition Housing Society provides supportive services to women, men and children. In addition to two transition houses, they run programs such as "Boundaries and Beginnings" and "Children Who Witness Abuse". Sutton Group - West Coast Realty hopes to raise $1,000 for this charity at their community appreciation barbeque, raffle and auction on August 23.
