Calgary, AB - Lorhae Thompson is enduring something that nobody in their life should ever have to face: she has lost her five-year-old son to a drowning in Lake Bonavista on July 12th of this year.   This devastating loss isn't all that Thompson is facing at the moment.   A private lender has recalled the second mortgage on the single mother's home where she lives with her two children.   Unfortunately, Lorhae is unable to pay the $14,000 mortgage at this time and may lose their home.

The Sutton Group in Calgary has started an account for the Thompson family to help alleviate the burden of paying off this mortgage in the midst of the still real pain of the loss of the young boy.   Helen Milton from the Sutton Group - Canwest Vista office has stepped up and said, "We have to do something.   We want to challenge the other real estate companies in our area to give to this unfortunate family.   We can't just sit back and let this happen; we have to do something about it."   Milton, along with the many employees of the Sutton Group and the Hawkwood office of Calgary has already contributed $1,500 to this fund.   Milton is optimistic that the real estate companies as well as other organizations in the Calgary area will pool together their resources to raise the remaining $12,500 to assist this family in need.
