Parksville, BC - Dan Jack of Sutton Group - Whitecap Realty is getting a head start on organizing the 19th annual Pig 'n' Fin event at Coombs Rodeo Grounds this summer. Dan is hoping that the largest motorcycling event on the Island is going to bring some 1200 to 1500 enthusiasts together and raise around $50,000. These funds will be donated to injured motorcyclists who need financial, legal or emotional support.

"I decided to join V.I.A.I.M. (Vancouver Island Alliance for Injured Motorcyclists) because I ride myself, I love it and want to help out", reveals Dan. The V.I.A.I.M. is one of seven chapters of the national Canada A.I.M which is a benevolent, non-profit society staffed solely by volunteers. They are committed to assisting injured motorcyclists and ensuring they know their rights. "We will help injured motorcyclists financially, provide legal advice, tow their bike from an accident and visit them in the hospital", says Dan.

Furthermore, Dan is on the executive team of two other non-profit organizations. He is the Communications Officer for the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron which offers boating safety courses. "My job is to communicate events to some 200 squadron members", says Dan. He is also the Director of the Oceanside General's Junior Hockey Team League and recruits the coaches and assists with financial support and finding host families for the hockey members who come from the U.S. and Northern BC. "It is important to get involved in organizations in which you have genuine interest and also have fun! I have stuck with these organizations for many years and look forward to going to meetings and helping out", shares Dan.
