White Rock, BC - Barb Maguire and Maria Perry-Whittingham of Sutton Group - West Coast Realty in White Rock geared up and organized a Charity Pub Night which took place yesterday, April 4 at the Ocean Village Pub. All proceeds will be donated to the Peach Arch Hospital Foundation.
Both women have had close family members take advantage of the services of the Hospital. They acknowledge the strong need for better health care in the White Rock/South Surrey area. Barb said, "The government only covers a portion of the hospital costs. If there are any maintenance issues or new furniture and equipment needed, the hospital relies on private support".
Barb, who has also been a dedicated member of the foundation council for ten years, shared, "White Rock is very close-knit community and the support of its residents is crucial. Both Maria and I have been involved as administrators for almost 20 years and it is very important to us to give back".
The donations were collected though a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle draw. All items for the draw were contributed by local businesses. Both women welcomed the generosity and loyalty of co-workers, lawyers, mortgage brokers and suppliers. Barb and Maria are committed to making next year's initiative bigger and better.
