London, ON - It is all about being community-focused for REALTORS® Dan Grantham and Renald Guindon of Sutton Group - Preferred Realty Inc.* For a number of years, they have donated over $12,000 to several charities. They have also developed a program where they donate to a charity every time they make a sale; so far they have donated close to $60,000. In addition, Dan and Renald belong to a number of groups and have been acknowledged for their efforts.

Immediately when Dan and Renald first became partners, they wanted to come together and give back. For four years, they have donated to more than 35 charities including the Canadian Cancer Society, Women's Community House, London Humane Society, London Food Bank, and Boys & Girls Club. Their donation program has also been a great success, where a percentage of each sales transaction goes towards a charity of their clients' choice. In the past five years, the donation program has given over $60,000. "It's a win-win-win situation; the charity gets the money, our clients choose the cause and we feel good doing our part", expressed Dan.

Along with supporting various charities, Dan and Renald belong to a number of associations and groups. Dan is the President of the Board of Directors for Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU), a social agency in London that provides youth with career development, enterprise services and transitioning. He supported their 2nd annual "Breakfast for YOU" charity, where over 400 people attended. Dan has also been the past President of Tourism London and is currently on the Board of Directors for the London Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Renald belongs to a number of support groups.

Dan and Renald are proud of their contributions to the community and they have been recognized for their efforts. In 2004, they received the London and St. Thomas Real Estate Board's Community Service Award. "It feels so good to give back; it is very rewarding emotionally", said Renald. "At the end of the year I just think wow, look at what we are able to do. I feel so fortunate that we can do this and I encourage any REALTOR® to do the same".
