White Rock, BC - REALTORS® Patti Cowan and Lynn Brice of Sutton Group - West Coast Realty in White Rock are devoted contributors to the community. Once again, they are participating in the 60km Walk to End Breast Cancer. In past years, they raised a significant amount of money and this year their goal is $50,000. Along with the walk, they supported the Heart and Stroke Foundation Big Bike Fundraiser and the World Partnership Walk.

When Lynn and Patti both lost close family members and friends to cancer, they decided to help fight against this disease by joining the 60km Walk to End Breast Cancer. In 2006, they raised $6,000 for the walk, and in 2007, they recruited 13 women and formed the team "For My Breast Friends", and raised over $32,000. The team last year wore matching pink t-shirts, flashing earrings, whistles, bracelets, and headbands to stand out from the crowd. "We truly believe that there will be a cure one day and if we can save one patient at a time by doing this, it's worth every ache & pain or step we walk!", expressed Patty & Lynn. This year's walk is from September 5-7 and they hope to raise $50,000.

In the past year, they have also been busy supporting important fundraising events. They participated in the Heart and Stroke Foundation Big Bike Fundraiser with their office. Patti and Lynn rode at the front of the bike and peddled through the streets of White Rock. In addition, they organized a family team to join them in the World Partnership Walk through Stanley Park. This annual event, held in 20 Canadian cities, builds awareness and raises funds in the fight against global poverty. For this event, they entered their grandchildren in a Stroller Challenge, to encourage children to help their peers in developing countries. "Teaching our children to walk together and raise money to help other children, made for a very special day", said Lynn.

Patti and Lynn truly care about giving back and making an impact in people's lives. "We want to help make a difference in the community and beyond. Many REALTORS® are very successful and it's important for us to give back as the power of many can do a lot. We want to put Sutton on the map and show that we care." They are currently working on organizing a women's conference so women can share their life stories; they hope to launch it before 2009.
