Whistler, BC - Lonne Clark of Sutton Group - West Coast Realty has been working hard to organize an exciting event coming up this weekend - the annual Chance for Kids Charity Golf Tournament. This fundraising event, which will take place on May 10th at the Big Sky Golf & Country Club in Pemberton, helps talented athletes achieve their full potential. This year they hope to raise $50,000.

This will be the 4th year that Lonne has been the Golf Tournament Chair/Event Organizer. She decided to become involved with Chance for Kids because she wanted to help young athletes from the Sea to Sky Corridor (Squamish, Whistler, & Pemberton) reach their Olympic status. "We have such easy access to the great outdoors; talented athletes are so close to us and I want to help them be on a national team", expressed Lonne. Chance for Kids is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide financial assistance to aspiring athletes; to date, they have donated over $65,000 and are supporting 13 individuals.

The Chance for Kids Charity Golf Tournament, which took approximately 4 months to plan, will take place at 1pm on Saturday, May 10th, at the Big Sky Golf & Country Club in Pemberton, BC. It is an 18-hole tournament with an expected 100 golfers. There will also be a dinner and auction to follow, with auction items including a golfing trip to Vancouver Island, hotel accommodations, restaurant gift certificates, sporting goods, clothing items and spa treatments. "This is a fun event where everyone plays as a team to support a good cause", said Lonne. Last year, they raised a record-breaking $40,000 and this year they hope to raise $50,000 through sponsorships, participating golfers, and silent auction revenues.

This event takes a large part of Lonne's time but she feels that all the hard work is worth it. "It makes me feel great to support this initiative because you know the impact you have made on others; I would love to see more REALTORS® support these type of events."
