Saskatoon, SK - Broker Reg Kotlar of Sutton Group - Norland Realty is doing his part in his community. He was recently elected to represent Saskatchewan on the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) Board of Directors. He is also quite active in the local real estate industry and has been President and a representative for various real estate associations. Additionally, Reg involves his office in a number of community events.

Reg has extensive board experience. He has sat on various committees since 1979 and served as director of the Saskatoon Real Estate Board in 1986, 1987 and from 1996-2001. In 2000, he became President of the Board. In 2003, Reg was elected to the Saskatchewan provincial association and served as a director until 2007 and in 2006, he was the president of the Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS®. In addition, he was the Broker Council chairman for Sutton Western Region for 7 years and was active in planning the last two National Broker Council conventions. "My involvement in committee work and various boards is because I like to stay in the loop and be aware of challenges facing the industry", said Reg.

In April 2008, he was elected to represent Saskatchewan on the CREA Board of Directors for a two year term. His role is to be the liaison between the Association of Saskatchewan REALTORS® and the CREA Board of Directors. "My goal is to represent my province to the best of my ability and to further the objectives of CREA while promoting the value of both organizations." Reg is also currently the Saskatchewan Representative on the claims committee of the Real Estate Insurance Exchange, which is a self funded Errors and Omissions insurance provider for Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Reg has his office participate in a variety of community events all year round. They have been a partner with an inner city school for the past 13 years and are involved in many events with them. At Christmas, they have a Sutton Claus campaign where they visit care homes and spread the joy of the holiday season through song and donating gifts. In addition, they have a yearly memorial golf tournament in honor of one of their former agents with funds going towards local charities. Reg feels that giving back is extremely important. "Many of us enjoy great abundance and there is no better way to enjoy it than to share it. I'm proud that Sutton promotes good corporate citizenship through Sutton Spirit and believe that all our agents should adopt the slogan, "‘giving starts the receiving process.'"
