Toronto, ON -On July 27, 2008, hundreds of courageous individuals will embark on a challenging but rewarding journey called the Friends for Life Bike Rally. One of these individuals is Richard James Whittaker of Sutton Group - Associates Realty Inc.*. For six days, these riders will cycle over 600km from Toronto to Montreal with the support of an excellent crew. Through this initiative, they will raise thousands of dollars for the Toronto People with Aids Foundation. The experience promises to have a profound impact on the lives of each and every participant.
Last year in August, less than 1 month after the 2007 rally, Richard was hit by a car; and he has been slowly recovering for the last few months. "20 pounds heavier and semi-broke I can't resist the challenge," says Richard. As a second year participant, Richard is hoping people will once again support this huge effort to make a difference. Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. "I personally raised over $2000 last year. I'd love to do better this year!"

The Friends for Life Bike Rally has been a huge success since it began ten years ago. It is the largest fundraiser for the Toronto People with AIDS Foundation and last year's gross contributions of over $800,000 set a record. This year's Bike Rally organizers are hoping to surpass that goal and gross a total of 1 million dollars. Along with committing many hours to training for this challenging ride, Richard must also raise a minimum of $2,200 in donations by June 30th, 2008. He asks Sutton members for their "generous support which will make a difference in the lives of so many and will help make the miles go by quicker."

You will receive a Canadian 2008 charitable tax receipt via email for all donations over $15. Richard jokingly adds that if he has a heart attack during the ride, no refund will be provided.
