‘Bring on the Balls’ Delivers Fun and Fitness
Surrey, B.C. – Sutton – Premier Realty recently delivered 320 sports balls to the Surrey Christmas Bureau as part of their Bring on the Balls campaign. Their four-year donation grand total is now 1,212 balls. This unique project was launched after office representatives delivering Christmas hampers to the Surrey Christmas Bureau charity in 2016 discovered that 4,000 children from low-income families eagerly anticipate gifts, but hundreds of teenagers are left empty-handed.
Upon learning this sad fact, Sutton - Premier Realty decided to up their game. In addition to providing hampers of holiday meals and gifts to several families, they wanted to do something specifically for teenagers. They decided that sports equipment was a gift that would offer hours of fun and fitness. After all, they had seen the effects of sport at their local elementary school.
Once every few months, prior to the pandemic, Broker Larry Anderson and REALTORS®, were invited to visit Harold Bishop Elementary School to play basketball and other sports with the students.
“Each time we go, we donate five $50 Superstore Gift cards for school counsellors to give out to kids, who don't have lunches, or parents, who don't have enough money for groceries,” says Larry.
To raise money for their many community projects, REALTORS® in this office make personal donations, plus, throughout the year, they host fundraisers such as a comedy show and poker nights. They are grateful to the clients and friends who contribute to their efforts to assist families in need through the Surrey Christmas Bureau.
