Realtor Sponsors Charitable Golf Tournament

Carlisle, ON – Nicholas Obal, a REALTOR® with Sutton Group Realty Systems Inc., recently sponsored and participated in the Cawaja Beach Golf Tournament. Proceeds of the July 27th event support initiatives by Sts. Volodymyr & Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church and its sister parish, the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Over the years, the tournament has also benefited the YMCA Child Care Centre in Midland, the Midland General Hospital, the Penetanguishene Mental Health Centre, the Big Brothers of North Simcoe, the Big Sisters Association of Huronia and the Huronia Museum.

“The Carlisle Golf & Country Club course featured 27 meticulously-maintained holes for players of all skill levels,” says Nicholas. “Long fairways, rolling greens and picturesque scenery decorated the course as players stroked through. Even the weather held out in the afternoon, as ominous rain clouds eventually gave way to a mild breeze and some pleasant sunshine on the back nine. Golfers were able to best their peers on both the ‘Longest Drive’ and ‘Closest to the Hole’ challenges—many talented foursomes made for some tough competition on these holes!”

Although COVID-19 precautions prohibited the highly anticipated pig roast, golf course staff prepared a delicious BBQ lunch and beverages for participants to consume throughout the day. Raffle prizes included a 58" widescreen TV, stereo headphones, golf passes, great food and gift certificates. There was a 50/50 draw and numerous giveaways.

Since the Cawaja Beach Golf Tournament launched in 1998, it has raised more than $200,000 for church initiatives and local charities. Participants return year after year to enjoy a day on the links, delicious food, silent auctions, prizes and socializing.

This was the first year that Nicholas sponsored the tournament but likely not his last. “The tournament’s organizers regularly take care to ensure that a great time is had by all. A huge thank you to them, the tournament sponsors and everyone who participated. We're already looking forward to next year!
