Little Heroes boost confidence on the ice
Abbotsford, B.C. – Abbotsford, B.C. – Children with developmental disabilities can play hockey in a safe and welcoming environment thanks to Sutton Group West Coast Realty in Abbotsford, as well as other generous sponsors. For the past few years, members of this Sutton office have been contributing funds and volunteering with Little Heroes Hockey Academy as they’ve watched the young players build their skills and confidence.
The Little Heroes aged 5 to 15 will have a chance to show off their skills at their first tournament scheduled for April 27th at the Sardis Sports Complex in Chilliwack.
REALTOR® Lyn McCullagh has been an enthusiastic donor to this cause and plans to volunteer at the tournament. She will join others helping as score runners, referees, programmers, and 50/50 ticket sellers.

“We first got involved when our office manager told us about Little Heroes Hockey Academy,” Lyn says. “She has a son with autism who didn’t feel comfortable on traditional hockey teams. Now he’s thriving! A few others at our office have children in the program too and they’re loving it.”
This hockey academy was founded by Ben Champagne, known to the players and families simply as Coach Ben. Through the generosity of community sponsors, he aims to provide this skills training and ice time at no cost to the parents. When possible, children are fitted with donated hockey equipment.
