Free Family Day Skate Event

Richmond, B.C. – After several, popular ice-skating events since 2018, five REALTORS® from Sutton Group - Seafair Realty: Ray Estrella, Brenna Inthavixay, Dan Fontaine, Daniel John, and Richard Chan, are pleased to announce that they will once again offer a free Family Day skate for the whole community.
“We book the entire arena for Family Day and treat the community to some good old fashioned ice skating with goody bags for the children, face painting, an animated photo booth, and more,” Ray says.
Among the unforgettable memories was the moment a few years ago, when co-organizer Daniel John emerged on the ice dressed in a full tuxedo. He skated to his then-girlfriend Megan’s favourite song, invited her to join him, then dropped to one knee and proposed. Of course, with such a romantic gesture, she said yes!

The next free skate will take place at the Minoru Arenas at 7551 Minoru Gate, Richmond from noon to 3 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024. This is a statutory holiday; schools and many workplaces are closed for the day. Why not spend it enjoying a quintessentially Canadian pastime?
Ray notes, “Our team is very family-focused, and we wanted to create a community event on a day that should be celebrated like Mother’s Day or Father’s Day without being commercialized.”
In addition to organizing these fun afternoon skating parties, Ray and the team have also rallied support for their local food bank and the Realtors CARE® Blanket Drive for many years.
